Four of Cups
You have everything, emotionally, that you could possibly want. You have a loving family. You have lots of friends. You go to parties, lots of parties. Nights are full of constant pleasure and fun.
Aaaaand you’re bored.
It happens. So here’s the Four of Cups, the card of emotional boredom and dissatisfaction. There’s a general sort of malaise that’s come down and smothered your enjoyment. You can’t point to anything that’s wrong, because nothing is really wrong… of course, being unable to justifiably complain may just make this feeling worse. You feel like something is missing, and want it to be different, somehow – hence why this can be considered “the grass is always greener on the other side” card. There might indeed be something missing – though that something is probably in you, not external – or you might just be ruining what you have with wishful thinking. But there’s a general feeling of stasis here, and that stasis can cause you to start taking what you have for granted, or worse yet, start robbing the pleasure out of your life.
And I just CAN’T WAIT until next Halloween~!
The best way I can really describe this is the end of Nightmare Before Christmas… I mean, spoilers if you haven’t seen that (how old is that film, now??) – but something has inspired you to look at what you have in a new light, and you’re excited again! Perhaps you just needed a break from your routine to recharge your emotional batteries, but you’re no longer discontent, and happy to go back to your previous life with a new appreciation for it.
